First and foremost a huge thank you to everyone involved in this remarkable experience. A friend greeted me the other day with "On a scale of 1:10 how did it go?" Without a thought my answer was 11 (perhaps it should have been even higher).
Kate, you led me step by step clearly and encouragingly through all that had to be done before departure. You have a very chatty, friendly way with your emails which I found easy and reassuring, enabling me to ask basic questions without feeling an idiot. Thank you.
I think all the information prior to the trip was useful, giving a flavour of what to expect but leaving room for me to find out for myself. Having just read through "What will you be doing exactly?" (not I emphasise for the first time!) it's exactly right and we worked our own way through some of the issues you mention. Being in touch with the other volunteers prior to departure was really good for me
