OFFICIAL SCHOOL LIBRARY OPENING/ SEND-OFF FOR ENGLAND TEACHERS

W.B Tshume Primary School in Kwazakhele will be holding an official send-off for three Educationists from England who have been doing duty at the school.

The event, which will see the official opening of the school library at Ngxokolo Street, Kwazakhele on Friday 14 March 2008 starting at 1 pm, will be graced by the Department of Education Acting District Director, Thandi Mbopa and Education Development Officer (EDO) Pamela Mbusi.

The three volunteers from England made the school library possible as their contribution to education and W.B Tshume Primary school development, said school Principal Andile Mfunda.

" Brenda and Barry Hinchliff together with Robin converted one of the classes of our school into a library. They put furniture and made library shelves and after finishing it brought burglar bars to ensure its safety," said an overjoyed Ward 30 Councillor Mfunda.

The school’s three-year-old relationship with the England volunteers has benefitted the children from the previously impoverished area of Kwazakhele, said Mfunda, adding that it was through such help from these educationists that they were hoping to make W.B. Tshume Primary School a centre of excellence - a school that everybody will be proud of.

He said parents and the School Governing Body (SGB) were very excited of the developments and supportive of all the improvements in the school.
