" Early years in the UK is far more advanced and you immediately begin to appreciate how many resources, materials and how

much money we have at our disposal.....It is important to embrace their (Gambian) culture and

understand the challenges faced by educators in The Gambia. Life is very different and opportunities are limited,

any future volunteers need to appreciate it is not about imposing our methods on them but more about looking

at ways they can take elements of our teaching methods and incorporate them into what they already do so

well."
